drop a heat sensor at a location and watch the path it walks: it samples the temperature in a ring around itself, turns toward whichever direction smells warmest, takes a step, and repeats. warmward just points the needle — this simulates actually following it. a follow-up idea from @cee.wtf.

sensor settings
how far apart it samples each direction — short range often means real weather barely differs, so the walk wanders on noise; long range can catch a genuine regional gradient.
how twitchy the sensor is — low gain trusts a clean reading, high gain amplifies everything it finds, including noise, and the path gets jittery. auto samples the ring right at the drop point first and picks a gain to match how strong the real gradient looks there.
how many times it re-samples and takes another stride. maxed out, this is a long walk — the sensor can wander a real distance chasing a false gradient.
